Kitfox Fly-In '07'
Steve and his great flying IV
just before we departed Deer
Valley Airport in north Phoenix.
Here we are pulled in behind
Mike Bergland's plane. We left
Deer Valley at 0600 as a flight of
two and met up with Phil and Bill
over Thunder Ridge making us a
gagle of three.
Mike's plane
Phill's plane
Life is good
Arriving at Homedale about 5:00.
What a great flight. This was my
first long trip in a Kitfox and it
was better than I anticipated.
The comfort factor out did the
RV-7 that I flew back to
OshKosh, WI  in last summer.
What a great little plane!!!
Here we are...time to go meet the
Kitfox gang.
Many of the planes were tucked in
for the night after a good meal. As
it turns out, there were 33 Kitfoxes
that showed up for the flyin...John
McBean said as far as he knows
that is a record for any flyin. It was
surely an awesome event!
Saturday morning we had a great
breakfast and then it was time to
do some flying...so off we went.
This country is beautiful!
We did a little formation flying
and I got several shots of John
McBean's plane.
Nearing the end of the day.
Time to go back to the ranch.
Well, it was over too soon and the
next morning found us back in the
air. John and Deb did a fantastic
job of hosting the event and I'm
bettin next year will be even bigger.
Sunday morning heading south
once again. our flight of three
decided to break up the trip this
time so we holed up in Ely
Nevada for the night.
A motley crew.
The whole trip was fantastic and we
all had a good time. We are already
talking about next year and with hard
work and some luck I will be flying my
bird back home.
