Firewall Fab
First order of business was to
clamp the firewall into place. I
marked it w/ a felt tip pen where
the cuts needed to be.
I was a little hesitant to try cutting
this stainless with snips. Aluminum
would tend to disfigure...but the
stainless is stronger and held its
shape. Worked fine for the outside
edges.
With the model IV it is necessary
to make a box to allow set-back of
the oil reservoir. I didn't know if it
would work on the stainless steel,
but I tried the Rodman Nibbler and
it worked like a champ.
Drilled a couple holes and away I went.
This was much easier than I thought it
would be. The nibbler went through the
stainless like a hot  knife through
butter.
Perfect! Now to build the box. I
am going to practice a bit and try
my hand at welding this stuff. If
that doesn't work it will be rivets.
