Removing the
engine once
again after I
decided it would
be easier to do
that vs. cutting in
sections of the
blanket. The
blanket material
is 1/4" felt made
out of carbon
fibers. It
withstands 2000
degrees direct
heat and will
provide sound
absorption. The
product is called
HeatBlok
I will be securing the
blanket on the
cabin side of the
firewall
mechanically (with
screws) instead of
adhesive. After
researching it, I
don't believe there
are any adhesives
that will not emmit
gasses (most toxic)
when burned.
