Grommet & Throttle
Stuff
While kicking around some ideas
for firewall pass-through, Steve
Kellander sent me a URL for
Precision Grommets
These guys were great to work
with and very timely in sending
me the parts. I decided to buy
two of these you see here for
the throttle cables. I went with
the 6061 aluminum and I'm very
happy with the results.
Sorry for the
fuzzy pic here.
The o-ring didn't
really do much
to seal the cabin
side as it was
against felt. But
it worked out
fine.
A shot of how it
came out on the

When I ordered the grommets I thought all of them had an o-ring behind
the front flange...they don't. If you want that you need to specify.
It worked out fine though as I ran a small bead of RTV behind the flange
and then screwed them together, that is what you see around the edge
and I think it looks fine. Once I get the carbs adjusted to where I want
them, I will seal the cable  up with the RTV to seal off gasses.
Below a shot of the throttle cable at the
center and the E-Brake lock on the
right. The left side is for the choke.
