Wendy enjoys going on line and
finding nice bed & breakfast's to
stay at. Here is the little cottage
we stayed in for a couple nights.
In the morning we went to "the big
house" for breakfast. It was a nice
get-away.
Our B&B turned out to be just
down the road from Camp
Pinerock which was a place I spent
many of my summers as a kid.
This is the entrance. The building
to the right is the dining hall.
These pictures are a bronze memorial of a
great guy named Ron Lush. He was in
charge of the music at this church camp as
he directed the choir and (as I remember)
played a pretty mean trumpet. He may very
well have been my inspiration to take up
playing the trumpet when I started in the
5th grade.
A fond memory is my mom calling him Lon
Rush ....I remember how much you liked
him mom...Love ya mom :>)
I wonder how many times the trumpet
was replaced before they gave up? I
can see that being quite the prank at
summer camps. Of course I was always
a perfect angel when away at
camp...<grin>.
