Wide Body
Modification
The wide body modification was developed by Phil Laker of Laker Custom and Murle Williams of
Williams Aviation. Phil designed & made It of composite and later Murle began fabricating it out of
steel. I first saw it on Steve Kellendar's Kitfox IV. It does a great job of opening  up the shoulder area in
the cabin about 5 " and is one great enhancement for this already awesome plane.
Here you can see the left seat extension. All done
with chrome molly. Three separate pieces all
welded in place and the side ribs will need to be
brought out a bit to make the covering flow smooth.
A shot of both sides.
The big piece of metal is bracing placed over
the main gear bracket that was welded into
place for the tri-gear change.
A few more shots showing the welds. I have
some cleaning up and fill work to do before it
can be primed and painted.
